Daniel Pizzata is an executive, entrepreneur, roboticist and creative critical thinker and has been developing technology and startups for almost 15 years. Daniel is President and Founder of Modbot, a Silicon Valley based robotics technology startup that’s venture backed by well known VCs and Corporates including Eclipse Ventures, Jerry Yangs fund AME Cloud Ventures and Autodesk Inc.
Modbot pioneers modular robots providing industrial grade modular hardware and 3D interactive browser based software for building, programming, monitoring and ordering robots. Daniel successfully raised 10MM+ USD, ran business development, product design, strategy and management and closed contracts with Siemens, Boeing, Denso, Magna and various Tier 1 manufacturing firms. He grew the team from nil to 18 people and established the first 1MM USD in bookings while guiding product design & management as well as Robotics & AI R&D from conception to manufacture.
Alongside Modbot, Daniel is on the Board of Inside Academy which provides inspiring coaching to people looking to navigate professional hurdles, take risks and manage stresses with an emphasis on mindfulness and the encouragement of fearless female founders based in SF. He has been an executive in various startups across Textiles/Apparel through to Cloud Based SaaS and ultimately Robotics/AI.
He started his career in the Defence Sector in Australia, supporting secure projects within the Australian Defence Force before contracting out to BAE Systems and eventually founding his own Startup. In 2014 he and his Cofounder participated in the TechCrunch Battlefield Event in Las Vegas which brought him to California to establish and grow Modbot Inc.
Born and Raised in Perth, Western Australia, he holds a BEng with Honours in Electronics and Communications Engineering, a BSci in Physics as well as a BComm in Marketing and Information Systems. He would say he's passionate about big world changing ideas and thrives in ambiguous problem areas but has seen the hurdles and extreme challenges that come from taking on the big risks of technology innovation and startup life. He is exceptionally open to offering support to startups, VC’s and other budding technology innovators and is regularly willing to share his time and stories.
